Jo Dixon

Jo Dixon

I'm a poet, critic, academic and Creative Writing tutor living in Nottingham.

My poems have appeared in a range of publications, including New Walk, The Interpreter's House, Furies: A Poetry Anthology of Women Warriors (For Books’ Sake), In Transit: Poems of Travel (The Emma Press, 2018) and South Bank Poetry. My debut poetry pamphlet, A Woman in the Queue, was published by Melos Press in 2016 and described by Ian Pople of The Manchester Review as a 'fine pamphlet' of 'enigmatic narratives'. You can find examples of my poetry here:

In 2018, I was shortlisted for The Poetry Business International Book & Pamphlet Competition. I have read my work in a variety of venues across the East Midlands, London and Estonia and delivered a series of creative-critical writing workshops in Estonia, where I have also read my poems alongside their Estonian translations.

I have worked on poetry projects with Creswell Crags Heritage Centre and Museum, Bilborough Sixth Form College, Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery, St. Ann’s Allotments and Nature in Mind (Framework Housing Association).
